Signor Sassi Dubai carries the name of the Knightsbridge original, which opened in London in 1984 and became one of the city's best-known Italian restaurants. The Dubai location sits within the St. Regis Gardens dining complex at The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm, run under the same San Carlo Group Italian concept.
The restaurant pairs an indoor dining room with Il Giardino di Sassi, an outdoor garden terrace built around a stone fountain and rows of potted olive trees, designed to evoke a villa on Lake Como. An island bar anchors the room for cocktails before dinner.
The current a la carte menu runs from crudo and antipasti through to Dal Macellaio mains, with the Famous Spaghettini with Lobster, Risotto Signor Sassi with porcini mushrooms and seasonal truffle, Veal Milanese with potato julienne, Dover Sole alla Carlo, and a Wagyu Tomahawk built to share among the named dishes. Imperial Oscietra and Beluga caviar and Gillardeau oysters sit at the top of the raw bar.
Signor Sassi is open Monday through Thursday from 6 pm to 2 am, with lunch added Friday through Sunday from noon to 3 pm ahead of the same 6 pm to 2 am dinner service. Reservations run through the restaurant's own SevenRooms page, and the garden terrace tables are worth requesting for dinner.
