New Year's Eve in Bangkok (2026)
New Year's Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday in Bangkok. Twelve rooftops for the countdown, fifteen nightclubs for after midnight and five riverside restaurants for dinner, grouped by district around the ICONSIAM and CentralWorld countdowns.
Why we wrote this guide
New Year's Eve in Bangkok falls on a Thursday this year, December 31, 2026, and New Year's Day is a public holiday in Thailand, so nothing is waiting on the morning after. The night comes down to three decisions: where to be at midnight, where to go after it, and whether dinner comes first. This guide keeps those apart - twelve rooftops for the countdown, fifteen nightclubs for after midnight and five restaurants for dinner - and groups them by district, because road closures and crowds make crossing the city around midnight slow.
Each entry describes the room as it stands on an ordinary Thursday: the building and the floor, the view, the format and the hours it keeps. Where those hours already run past midnight, we say so. Where they end at midnight, we say that too, since a room that normally closes at 12 is a different proposition for a countdown. What each venue runs on the night itself - set menus, ticketed entry, later hours - is confirmed when you book.
Last updated October 30, 2026.
The two public countdowns
Two public events draw most of the city's crowd on the night, and both decide where you can get to and when.
ICONSIAM, on the river. ICONSIAM stages its countdown from River Park on the west bank of the Chao Phraya. Last year's edition, the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2026, ran for five days from December 27 to 31, 2025, with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration among its partners. It closed at midnight with a 20-minute show of fireworks, drones and pyrotechnics along about 1,400 meters of the river.
CentralWorld, at Ratchaprasong. The other countdown is staged in front of CentralWorld at the Ratchaprasong intersection. For last year's edition a Royal Gazette order closed six roads around it to vehicles - Rama I, Phloen Chit, Phetchaburi, Ratchaprarop and two stretches of Ratchadamri - from 4 p.m. on December 31 to 2 a.m. on January 1. The stretch of Ratchadamri between Pratunam and Ratchaprasong closed from noon until 5 a.m.
Neither 2026 program had been announced when this guide was written; last year ICONSIAM announced its line-up at the start of December. If this year's road order follows the same pattern, plan on the BTS rather than a car anywhere near Ratchaprasong. Our Bangkok partner arranges nightclub tables around both nights. We do not sell entry to either event.
Where to watch the countdown
On the river
1. ThreeSixty Lounge (Millennium Hilton)

ThreeSixty Lounge spreads across the 31st and 32nd floors of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok on Charoen Nakhon Road, a few hundred meters along the west bank from ICONSIAM. The lower floor is an open-air terrace and the upper floor a glass-domed jazz lounge, and both face back across the water at the city skyline. There is no dance floor here: live jazz is the anchor, with cocktails, wine and tapas, not a full dinner. Its regular Thursday hours run from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
2. Rim Rooftop Dining (Kowtha Rivertel)

Rim Rooftop Dining sits on the upper floors of the Kowtha Rivertel in Khlong San, under a kilometer from ICONSIAM, low and close to the water. The view is the river itself, with the Asiatique Sky Ferris wheel at its center, and there is live music every evening. The kitchen runs Thai and European plates, so dinner and the countdown can happen in one seat. Its regular Thursday hours run from 4 p.m. to midnight, so ask what it is running past 12 when you book.
3. Sky Bar (lebua at State Tower)

Sky Bar is on the 64th floor of lebua at State Tower in Silom, roughly 247 meters up and under a kilometer across the river from ICONSIAM. It is the gold-domed bar cantilevered out over the drop, with the Chao Phraya bending below, and the one from The Hangover Part II. Seating is first come, first served from 5 p.m., and it keeps a minimum spend in the busy evening hours and holds a strict dress code: long trousers and closed shoes. Its regular hours run to 12:30 a.m. Distil and Alfresco 64, elsewhere in the same tower, are the quieter alternatives.
4. SEEN Restaurant (AVANI+ Riverside)

SEEN takes the 26th and 27th floors of AVANI+ Riverside Bangkok on the Thonburi bank, about two kilometers downriver from ICONSIAM. The deck wraps an art-deco infinity pool and looks back across the water at the full skyline. The kitchen, from chef Olivier da Costa, runs Portuguese-Brazilian and Japanese plates, so it can hold a whole evening. Its regular Thursday hours run from 11 a.m. to midnight.
5. Above Riva (Riva Arun)

Above Riva is the other kind of river night. It sits on the roof of the Riva Arun hotel in the old town, almost three kilometers upriver from ICONSIAM, on a low terrace that looks straight across the water at Wat Arun. The kitchen serves contemporary Thai with cocktails and a considered wine list. Ask for a river-facing table. Its regular hours end at midnight.
Silom, Sathorn and Lumphini
6. Sky Beach (King Power Mahanakhon)

Sky Beach is the open-air deck on the 78th floor of King Power Mahanakhon, about 310 meters above Silom, run by The Standard. The concept is a beach club in the sky in bright yellow, with a glass-floor section and the Mahanakhon Skywalk observation deck on the same floor. Cocktails and American-style bites keep it casual. Its regular Thursday hours end at midnight, so confirm what it is running on the night before you plan the countdown around it.
7. Le Du Kaan (The Empire)

Le Du Kaan is on the 56th floor of The Empire on South Sathorn Road, from chef Thitid "Ton" Tassanakajohn of Le Du and Nusara. The floor splits into a dining room serving regional Thai cooking family style, private rooms for closed groups, and a sky bar that looks straight down the Sathorn corridor. The bar runs to 1 a.m., so dinner and midnight can happen on one floor.
8. Spire (Dusit Thani)

Spire occupies the 39th floor of the rebuilt Dusit Thani on Rama IV Road, and it faces Lumphini Park, so the terrace looks over open parkland with the Sathorn towers rising behind it. There is an indoor bar and an open terrace, cocktails and a short sharing menu. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the bar runs to 1 a.m. The house asks for smart casual, which allows shorts with covered shoes but not flip-flops or tank tops, and admission is 20 and over. Groups of eight or more are arranged as a booking.
9. AETHER (Dusit Central Park)

AETHER is on the 44th floor of Dusit Central Park, where Silom meets Rama IV, and it opened in December 2025. It is a 360-degree open deck over Lumphini Park and the Silom skyline, with a house-music sound running through it, so it works as a lounge early and closer to a rooftop club later. The cocktail program is the other reason to go. Its regular Thursday hours run from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and reservations are arranged with the bar by email, through the link on its page.
Ratchaprasong
10. Red Sky and CRU Champagne Bar (Centara Grand at CentralWorld)

Red Sky wraps the 55th to 59th floors of Centara Grand at CentralWorld, the complex the CentralWorld countdown is staged in front of. Red Sky is a wraparound open-air terrace under a color-shifting arch, with a grill-focused international menu. Three floors up, CRU Champagne Bar is reached by its own lift and pours G.H. Mumm by the glass on a white circular deck with views all the way around. Its regular Thursday hours run from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. The hotel is on Rama I Road, inside last year's closures, so arrive by BTS.
11. Hanuman Sky Bar / Akara Sky (One City Centre)

Hanuman Sky Bar, also branded Akara Sky, spreads across the 58th to 61st floors of One City Centre on Ploenchit. It is a multi-level destination built around Hanuman, the monkey warrior of Thai legend: an observation deck, a nightly sky night market and a run of culture-themed rooms, with drinks carried along the deck. Its regular Thursday hours run from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and it books through Akara Sky's own site, which covers the bar and the deck together.
Sukhumvit
12. Octave Rooftop Lounge (Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit)

Octave climbs the 45th to 49th floors of the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit on Soi 57, a few minutes on foot from Thong Lo BTS. Five floors of terraces end in a top bar with a full 360-degree view of the Sukhumvit skyline, and it has generous seating across its levels. Its regular Thursday hours run from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. It is the rooftop on this list closest to the Thonglor and Ekkamai clubs below.
Where the night goes after midnight
The fifteen clubs below close between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on a regular Thursday. They cluster in a handful of districts, so pick the district first and the room second; moving between districts after midnight on New Year's Eve is slow. Every one of them is a table-service request handled by our Bangkok partner (see How to book).
Sukhumvit 24, by Phrom Phong
1. Upper House

Upper House is on the second floor of 24 BLVD, just off Sukhumvit 24 and a short walk from Phrom Phong. The entrance is understated and the room behind it is not: red light, a long back bar, and a floor that takes over around midnight after an earlier stretch as a drinks room. Its regular hours run from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
2. Baccarat

Baccarat is inside the Davis Hotel on Sukhumvit 24, a low-lit, plush room with bottle service throughout and a curated door. The sound runs house, tech-house and techno from international DJs. Its regular Thursday hours run from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
3. GOT

GOT, short for Good Old Times, is a few doors from Upper House, behind curved marble, arched booths, mirrored ceiling installations and a bar in warm LED. The program is nostalgia-led, familiar hits over the current chart. It runs seven nights, and its regular Thursday hours run from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Most groups use it and Upper House as a pair without leaving the soi.
Sukhumvit 11 and Asoke
4. Levels Club & Lounge

Levels is on the sixth floor of the Aloft Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 11 and has been open since 2012. It splits into three connected zones: a main dance floor, a mezzanine over it, and an open-air terrace with city views that runs techno and house. Dress smart-casual, without shorts or sandals. Its regular hours run from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
5. Sugar Club

Sugar Club has been the hip-hop and R&B room on Soi 11 since 2014, steps from Nana BTS. A central LED stage is visible from the floor up to the mezzanine, with a VIP zone overlooking it, and the calendar is hip-hop seven nights a week. Tyga, Lil Yachty and Rae Sremmurd have all played the stage. Its regular hours run from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
6. APT 101

APT 101 is on the third floor of a building on Sukhumvit Road near Asoke BTS, built around a 1970s New York penthouse across three rooms: the Clubhouse, the Pantry and the Page Seven Bar. It is small by Bangkok standards, with open-format DJs and live sets and no mainstage. It opens at 6 p.m., early enough to start the evening there, and its regular Thursday hours run to 2 a.m.
Sukhumvit 45, Thonglor and Ekkamai
7. Sing Sing Theater

Sing Sing Theater is off Sukhumvit on Soi 45, designed by Ashley Sutton as 1930s Shanghai across three floors and four split levels: red lanterns, metal screens, a mezzanine with its own bars, balcony boxes over the floor and a third floor with its own bar. On a regular Thursday the program is hip-hop and open format. The door runs 20 and over with ID, so bring a passport. Its regular Thursday hours run from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
8. Salone di Vita

Salone is on Sukhumvit 63, in the Ekkamai pocket, a lounge-club that keeps the room small and the door selective. The layout is arranged around the tables, with resident and guest DJs and bottle service at the center of the night. Its regular hours run from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
9. MUIN

MUIN is on the fifth floor of Donki Mall on Sukhumvit 63 in Thonglor, a Korean club format in three rooms that share a run of terraces and bars: Jack for EDM, Livin for hip-hop and District for techno and house. It opens Wednesday to Sunday from 9 p.m., and its regular Thursday hours run to 3:45 a.m. The venue's own pages note that floor space goes quickly once the music starts.
Ploenchit
10. MIXX Discotheque

MIXX is in the President Tower on Ploenchit Road, a short walk from Chit Lom BTS and the Ratchaprasong shopping streets, which suits a group coming from the CentralWorld side. Its listed hours are 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. every night.
RCA and Rama 9
11. Route 66

Route 66 has been on Royal City Avenue for decades. It runs three to four connected zones under one roof - a hip-hop room, an EDM and house mainstage, and a live-band room with singers and K-pop - so a mixed group can split up and stay in one building. The crowd is young and largely Thai, with tourists folded in. Its regular hours run from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
12. Spaceplus

Spaceplus is on the third floor of RCA Plaza, a club of roughly 2,000 capacity with a single main room of about 2,800 square meters, an L-Acoustics system, a 360-degree LED array and more than 20 lasers. It runs EDM and hardstyle, and it placed No. 47 on the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs in 2024 and No. 43 in 2025. Its regular hours run from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
13. Onyx

Onyx is the big room of the RCA strip, with full stage production, balconies over the floor and VIP booths around it. It placed on DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs in several years between 2017 and 2021, and it runs commercial EDM, house and electro. Its regular hours run from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
14. VOID

VOID is near Rama 9, just east of RCA, and placed No. 67 on DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs in 2026. The room is built around a 26-meter 6K LED wall, sixteen lasers and a d&b audiotechnik system, and it runs techno, progressive house and big-room EDM. The floor is the draw here more than the tables. Its regular hours run from 9:30 p.m. to 3:45 a.m.
Ratchada
15. Atlas Superclub

Atlas Superclub is in the Ratchada entertainment district, the Thai sibling of Atlas in Bali, and placed No. 50 on DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs in 2026, the highest Bangkok placing on that year's list. It is a large, theatrical room with festival-grade lighting and dancers working the mainstage between sets, running EDM, house and open format. Dress for the door. Its regular hours run from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Dinner first
These five sit on or near the river, which puts them close to the ICONSIAM side of the night. Each books on its own platform from its page.
1. Mezzaluna (State Tower)

Mezzaluna is a crescent-shaped room on the 65th floor of State Tower, one floor above Sky Bar, with double-height windows over Bang Rak and the river. Chef Ryuki Kawasaki runs seasonal tasting menus that put Japanese ingredients through French technique, and it holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 guide. It keeps a smart dress code, and its regular Thursday hours run from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
2. Sirocco (State Tower)

Sirocco is the open-air restaurant on the 64th floor of lebua at State Tower, with white-linen tables set at the edge of the drop and angled toward the Chao Phraya. The kitchen serves Mediterranean cooking with Andalusian, Provencal and Levantine influences and Thai-sourced ingredients. The dress code rules out athletic wear, swimwear, sleeveless shirts for men and flip-flops. Its regular Thursday hours run from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
3. Cote by Mauro Colagreco (Capella Bangkok)

Cote is Mauro Colagreco's restaurant inside Capella Bangkok on the Charoenkrung riverfront, in a light, calm room with views over the Chao Phraya. Chef Davide Garavaglia cooks the Riviera from Nice to Genoa, and it holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 guide. Its regular Thursday hours run from noon to 10 p.m., so this is an early dinner before the river.
4. Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie (Mandarin Oriental)

Le Normandie sits in the Mandarin Oriental above Bang Rak, with the Chao Phraya beyond the windows, and its current chapter belongs to Anne-Sophie Pic. It was awarded two Michelin stars in November 2025. Jackets suit the room, and the tasting menu is the way to eat here. Its regular Thursday hours run from noon to 11:30 p.m. Ask for a table by the river.
5. Blue by Alain Ducasse (ICONSIAM)

Blue by Alain Ducasse is inside the ICONLUXE wing of ICONSIAM itself, on the west bank, and has held a Michelin star since 2020. Chef Evens Lopez keeps to French fundamentals with Southeast Asian ingredients. Its regular Thursday hours run from noon to 8:30 p.m., which makes it an early table in the same building as the river countdown.
How to book
Rooftops and restaurants book on their own platforms, linked from each venue page, and the confirmation comes straight from the venue. Three work differently: Sky Bar is first come, first served, AETHER takes reservations by email with the bar, and Hanuman Sky Bar books through Akara Sky's own site.
Nightclub tables go through our Bangkok partner. Use the form below: choose the club, keep the date on December 31 and tell us how many are in the group. It is a request for table service, not a guest list or entry. Club requests carry a $100 reservation fee, paid before we book, refunded in full if we cannot secure the table, and separate from whatever you spend on the night.
Whichever way you book, ask further ahead than you would for an ordinary weekend.
