Perched on the 64th floor of lebua at State Tower, Distil is the whisky-and-cigar lounge within The Dome, the landmark rooftop complex made globally famous by Sky Bar. It plays the quieter, more indulgent counterpoint to its flashier neighbor - the same soaring altitude and the same commanding sweep over the Chao Phraya, but built for slow sipping, away from the crowds gathered at the golden dome.
The design leans into its purpose, working onyx, glass and wood to echo the warmth and depth of a fine spirit. Inside it functions as a layered space - part DJ bar, part smoking lounge, part oyster bar - while an open-air cigar terrace opens onto panoramic views of the river and the glittering Bangkok skyline.
The cellar is the draw: a distinguished run of whiskies alongside rare cognacs and distinctive tequilas, poured next to inventive cocktails and international bar snacks. Legendary Davidoff cigars are the signature, best enjoyed out on the terrace with a dram in hand.
It is an intimate, grown-up perch, not a party rooftop, open from 5pm to around 12:30am. A reservation is recommended, and arriving before sunset rewards you with the city sliding from gold into full glitter.
