Anne-Sophie Pic's French restaurant at Le Normandie in the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
Le Normandie has been the grande dame of Bangkok French dining since it opened as Thailand's first French fine-dining room, set high in the Mandarin Oriental above Bang Rak with sweeping Chao Phraya views. Its latest chapter belongs to Anne-Sophie Pic, the most Michelin-starred female chef in the world, and in November 2025 the partnership was awarded two Michelin stars - a bold reset that honors the room's storied past while pushing it forward.
The dining room remains one of the most formal and beautiful in the city, all riverside light and faultless service, with the Chao Phraya sliding past beyond the windows. It is the definition of a grand-occasion room. Pic's cooking runs on what she calls Suffusion, a philosophy of aromatic harmony that plays flavors, textures and fragrances against one another.
Signatures such as her Berlingots and a reworked lobster dish with red-fruit dashi carry both French tradition and a deep affection for Asia. This is one of the definitive special-occasion tables in Bangkok, full stop. Jackets suit the room, the tasting menu is the way to experience it, and reservations should be made well ahead - ask for a table by the river.
