Rim Rooftop Dining & Bar takes a different approach to the Bangkok rooftop, sitting low and close to the water on the upper floors of the Kowtha Rivertel in Khlong San, not hundreds of meters up a tower. The payoff is a river-level vantage over the Chao Phraya, with the illuminated Asiatique Sky Ferris Wheel as the centerpiece of the view.
The terrace spreads across indoor and open-air seating, an easygoing deck built for long evenings by the river, not cocktail-bar formality. Boats drift past below and the skyline glows on the far bank, a gentler, more intimate outlook than the vertigo-inducing skydecks elsewhere in the city.
The kitchen works a crowd-pleasing fusion of Thai and European plates, from a Tom Yum Seafood Hot Pot to a Garlic Butter Seafood Bucket, matched with a full drinks list. It is dining-and-drinks in equal measure, meant to be lingered over, not rushed.
