Poppy sits at 755 North La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood, in the space that was formerly STK, and has run as a nightclub since opening in 2017. The idea is a fantasy where a nightclub meets a high-fashion playground, set in a storybook world of whimsy and mischief with a menagerie of characters.
The rooms are meant for exploring, from the colorful garden to the opulent library. For the opening, designer John M. Sofio built a wood-paneled library bar filled with thousands of collected books and objects, hung acid-stained antique mirrors and added a private room with its own bar, so a group can move between the garden, the library and the private room over the course of a night.
Poppy opens at 11 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m. on Monday, Friday and Saturday nights, and the night is built around bottle service. The bottle menu runs from Champagne and large-format bottles to vodka, rum, gin and tequila, so a birthday table or a celebration has plenty to choose from.
