Sound sits on North Las Palmas Avenue in Hollywood, a block off the Boulevard and within walking distance of the major theaters, which has long made it a choice for premiere after-parties alongside its own club nights. The 8,000-square-foot space was designed around the music: an expansive sunken dance floor puts the crowd below an elevated DJ booth, and the private tables are set with clear sightlines to the stage rather than tucked behind it.
The sound system was the point. Sound installed a first-of-its-kind Pioneer rig, and the room is wrapped in 3D projection mapping and custom video content that changes with the booking. Modern decor meets raw industrial finishes across multiple full-service bars, oversized booths and recessed seating, with changeable silk display panels running across the club facade.
Two details give the interior its character: refurbished wood paneling taken from Frank Sinatra's former home, and stairway railings salvaged from a Colorado railroad track.
Programming leans house and techno, with international bookings through the week. Deep Dish, O'Flynn, Indo Warehouse and X CLUB. all appear on the current calendar. The club trades Thursday through Saturday, with occasional Wednesday dates.
