Perch sits on the 15th and 16th floors of the historic Pershing Square Building in downtown Los Angeles, a dual-level French bistro high above Pershing Square. The 15th floor holds the bar, the dining room and the outdoor patios, and the terraces open onto 360-degree views of the downtown skyline.
The 16th-floor rooftop bar is 21+ at all times and runs on drinks, with the full menu served one floor down. Fire pits warm the outdoor spaces on cooler evenings. Live music plays from 7pm every night, with an extra noon set on Sundays, and DJs take over at 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The doors stay open until 1am, and until 1:30am Thursday through Saturday.
The menu is French bistro with sharing in mind. Ahi Tuna Tartare, French Onion Soup with Gruyere and a Fromage and Charcuterie plate open the table, while mains run from Chicken Supreme over truffle polenta to Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon au Poivre. Perch Truffle Cheese Fries come on the side. Friday lunch starts at 11:30am, and weekend brunch runs from 10am to 3:30pm.
Dress is upscale casual, with no gym wear, swimwear, sleepwear or basketball shorts. Mrs. Fish, the sister restaurant downstairs in the same building, pairs dinner there with drinks on the Perch rooftop Sunday through Friday. Walk-ins go on a first-come list at the 15th-floor host stand.
