LACMA Art and Film Gala 2026
The 15th LACMA Art and Film Gala falls on Saturday, November 7, 2026. What gala night does to reservations across Beverly Hills and the Westside, and where to eat that weekend.
LACMA Art and Film Gala 2026: the weekend around it, and where Los Angeles eats that night
The 15th annual LACMA Art and Film Gala falls on Saturday, November 7, 2026. It is the single most concentrated gathering of the Los Angeles art world and the film industry in the same room, and for one night it turns mid-Wilshire into the centre of the city.

Most people reading this are not going to the gala. That is rather the point. Gala night reshapes reservations across the Westside and mid-city, and the weekend around it is one of the better weekends of the LA autumn to be in town.
What the gala does to the city
The gala itself is a black-tie fundraiser on the LACMA campus on Wilshire, honouring an artist and a filmmaker each year. The guest list runs to several hundred and skews heavily toward people whose dinner plans the rest of the city pays attention to.
The knock-on effects are predictable and worth planning around:
- Beverly Hills and West Hollywood tighten for the surrounding nights, as the arriving crowd eats somewhere before and after.
- Mid-Wilshire traffic is difficult on the Saturday evening. If you are dining anywhere near the museum, build in time.
- The after-dinner rooms fill late. The night runs long, and the crowd that leaves the gala lands somewhere around midnight.
Where to eat that weekend
Beverly Hills and the Westside
Spago Beverly Hills is the room most directly connected to this world and has been since it opened. On gala weekend it is the hardest table in Beverly Hills.

Catch LA in West Hollywood is the rooftop that this crowd defaults to, and Delilah is the supper club with live music that runs latest. Nobu Los Angeles on La Cienega is the reliable one, and TAO Los Angeles and STK Los Angeles both carry the volume that a celebration night wants.
Cara Cara is the newer room that has taken a lot of the industry energy, and it is meaningfully easier to book than the names above.
Downtown and the east side

If you want to be away from the gala's gravity, the east side is the answer.
71above on the 71st floor of the US Bank Tower is the view dinner, and it is genuinely spectacular at night. Perch is the rooftop version at lower altitude with more atmosphere.
Bestia in the Arts District is still the most consistently excellent restaurant in Los Angeles, and Bavel from the same team is its equal. Both need booking weeks ahead regardless of what is happening at LACMA.
The coast
Nobu Malibu is the Saturday lunch that defines a certain kind of LA weekend, and on gala weekend it is where a lot of the arriving crowd surfaces during the day.
After

Delilah runs latest of the dining rooms. Beyond it, Hyde Sunset and Warwick are the West Hollywood rooms closest to where this crowd goes, Poppy is the smaller and more selective one, and Exchange LA and Avalon are the large-format Hollywood clubs.
Why November is the LA weekend worth booking
The gala is the anchor, but it sits inside the best stretch of the Los Angeles calendar. November is when the city is at its most liveable: the summer heat and the June gloom are both gone, the light in the afternoons is the reason people move here, and the restaurant scene is running at full strength before December scatters everyone.

It is also the last window before awards season begins in earnest. From January the industry's calendar fills with screenings, parties, and campaign dinners, and the good tables in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills get considerably harder. If you want Los Angeles at its best with reservations still obtainable, the first half of November is the answer.
How to plan it
- Book the Friday, not the Saturday, if you want the good rooms without the gala's pressure on them.
- Stay on one side of the city. LA on a Saturday night with an event at LACMA is not a city you want to cross twice.
- November is the right month for LA. The heat has gone, the light is good, and the restaurant calendar is at full strength before the holidays.
