STK Los Angeles · Restaurant · Los Angeles
The Westwood steakhouse that runs like a club, under a ceiling of neon waves.
STK Los Angeles moved a couple of blocks within Westwood to Glendon Avenue, and the new room leans harder into what the brand actually is: a steakhouse that behaves like a nightclub. The ceiling carries a sculpted wave of neon that changes colour through the evening, and the bar is positioned as the centre of the room rather than a holding pen for the tables.
The floor is split between the main dining room, a darker private room at the back and the bar and lounge, which runs its own crowd and its own volume. A DJ plays through dinner service, which is the detail that separates it from every other steakhouse in the city.
The cut list is the point of the menu and it is graded by size rather than by one house special - small, medium and large formats across filet, strip and ribeye, with a bone-in for the table. The sides are where the room shows off: parmesan truffle fries, the sweet corn pudding, the mac and cheese. There is a raw bar and a seafood tower for a group that wants a longer opening.
It sits in Westwood near UCLA and the Wilshire hotels, which makes it a straightforward pre- or post-theatre booking as well as a night in its own right.
