DJ-driven Gaslamp steakhouse where the cuts come marbled and the night runs late
STK San Diego is the steakhouse built to throw a party, set on the first floor of Andaz San Diego at 600 F Street in the Gaslamp Quarter. Live DJs set the tone, and the room is made for everything from Padres game nights and convention dinners to celebrations and groups out to make a night of it.
The design blends a modern steakhouse with a chic lounge. The steaks are the reason to book: cuts run from a 6-ounce filet to a dry-aged 14-ounce Delmonico and a 34-ounce tomahawk, with Japanese A5 strip and filet on the wagyu list. Build the plate your way, crowning a cut with King Crab Oscar or a lobster tail and pairing it with one of eight house sauces.
Start with the Lil' BRGs, wagyu sliders with special sauce on sesame seed buns. From there the kitchen ranges wide, with tuna tartare over avocado and taro chips, A5 wagyu potstickers, halibut fish and chips with hot yuzu tartar sauce, and corn pudding that quietly steals the table. The bar keeps pace, and the $3, $6, $9 happy hour runs 2:30 to 6:30 PM on weekdays, 2:30 to 5:30 PM on weekends, and again from 9 to 11 PM Sunday through Thursday.
Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM. It sits on F Street moments from Petco Park and the waterfront, which makes it a natural start to a Gaslamp night. Rooftop by STK is also at Andaz San Diego.
