Ironside Fish & Oyster occupies a restored 1920s warehouse on India Street in Little Italy, the former Ironside Metal Supply building that gives the restaurant its name. Since opening in 2014, it has become one of San Diego's defining seafood rooms, worth a dedicated evening rather than a squeezed-in stop.
The menu pivots twice daily around the catch. Black Cod marinated in miso and the warm Lobster Roll with clarified butter are the anchors, while Rockfish Ceviche with citrus, coconut milk, and habanero brings a bright, tropical punch. The raw bar runs on oysters sourced from Baja and British Columbia, including the house Ironside Select.
