Fish and oysters in a 1920s Little Italy warehouse on India Street
Ironside Fish & Oyster occupies a 1920s-era warehouse at 1654 India Street in Little Italy, a building that was home for decades to Ironside, a wrought-iron gate maker, and that gave the restaurant its name. It opened in 2014 as a house for fish, oysters and other delights, with a raw bar at the heart of the menu and designer Paul Basile behind the original room.
The space went through its biggest change in early 2026. After closing for more than a month, Ironside reopened on March 25, 2026 with a fully rebuilt kitchen and expanded live-fire cooking centered on a large-format Josper. The dining room gained new flooring, updated booths and seating, and a reimagined bar with new lighting and materials, all aimed at a cleaner, more refined feel that keeps the room's character.
Chef Jason McLeod calls the relaunch Ironside 2.0. The menu still turns on fish and oysters, the raw bar grew with the renovation, and the rebuilt kitchen gives charcoal and flame a bigger role in how the catch is cooked. Lunch and dinner are both served.
