Casa Tua sits at 1700 James Avenue in South Beach, an Italian restaurant set inside a villa with a lantern-lit garden. The property is part restaurant, part boutique hotel and private members club, created to feel like a visit to the home of a very good friend, and it suits a romantic dinner or a discreet evening out.
Tables spread between the villa and the garden. Outdoors, diners sit among lush tropical plants under lanterns hung in the trees, lit by candlelight after dark, and the East Garden patio seats up to 35. Inside, The Library is the main dining room, a cozy space with Italian decor and artwork that seats up to 52, and a semi-private Chef's Table looks into the open kitchen. The club on the villa's second level is reserved for members.
The kitchen works with organic, ethically sourced ingredients alongside an extensive wine list. Starters include tuna tartare with avocado puree, nut-crusted salmon with spring vegetable salad and oysters Casa Tua style, and the pastas include fettuccine with wild mushrooms, black truffle and parmesan fonduta and a farro risotto with Maine lobster. Mains run to veal Milanese and Mediterranean branzino, and desserts include tiramisu, millefoglie cream cake and Casa Tua gelato to share.
Dinner is served every evening from 6 PM, until 10:30 PM Sunday through Tuesday and until 11:30 PM Wednesday through Saturday. Reservations are required and are released on SevenRooms daily, 21 days in advance.
