Japanese grill and nightly entertainment in South Beach's historic Paris Theater
Queen Miami Beach fills the historic Paris Theater at 550 Washington Avenue, a theatrical Japanese dining room that turns into a late-night scene. Expect dinner as spectacle and a crowd dressed for it, with blazers or collared shirts for men. Come for the entrance as much as the meal.
The Paris Theater was built in 1945 by architect Henry Hohauser, and the restoration keeps its bones while dialing up the glamour: Lobmeyr chandeliers in the arrival hall, terrazzo mosaic floors with brass accents, 26-foot ceilings over plush velvet banquettes, and an oversized gold gong mirror at the center. The Parade of Carmens, a mural by Miami artist Gonzalo Fuenmayor, greets you at the door.
Entertainment changes nightly, from aerial performances over the dining room to guest DJs, and Queen Wednesdays puts performers center stage. The kitchen is modern Japanese grill built around a Josper charcoal oven and a robata flame grill, with Japanese Wagyu from Kaneko Farm in Aomori as the headline: sushi and sashimi, seafood towers and small plates alongside USDA Prime and dry-aged steaks, Japanese A5 and Kobe striploin.
Upstairs, Queen Omakase serves a 14-course omakase from Chef Max Kamakura in a private second-floor room. After 10 PM the room is 18 and older, and reservations must be confirmed 48 hours ahead.
