Noto is chef Emilio Giagnoni's Southern Italian restaurant on the port of Saint-Tropez, at 17 quai Jean Jaures, bringing south the recipe that made Noto a success in Paris. Giagnoni, formerly of the Four Seasons, cooks a generous, modern Italian menu built around the produce and meant for sharing, at lunch and at dinner.
Pugliese burrata with Sicilian datterino tomatoes, vitello tonnato and a run of raw fish crudos open the meal. Pasta goes from ricotta ravioli with butter and sage to tagliolini with summer truffle, and the mains include roasted sea bream with artichokes and potatoes, lamb chops with herb oil and sun-dried tomatoes, and a USA Prime Black Angus rib for two.
The room faces the boats in the harbor and is dressed like the patio of a Neapolitan villa, with olive trees, baroque fabrics and Italian furniture. Each evening it turns into a party at the table, with signature cocktails, live music and DJ sets carrying on until the end of the night.
Noto is open every day, with lunch from noon to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
