Senequier is the red terrace on the port of Saint-Tropez, at 29 quai Jean Jaures. The family house began in 1887 as a pastry and confectionery shop on the Place aux Herbes, in the village. The cafe on the port side followed in 1930, first as a tea room for the house pastries and sweets, then as Cafe Senequier.
The terrace, in the house's own Senequier red, looks straight out over the harbor and the boats moored in front of it. It became a favorite perch of the Nouvelle Vague years and remains a front-row seat on the life of the port, where the sun, the view and the passing scene count as much as what arrives at the table.
Senequier is open every day from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Mornings start with breakfast and viennoiserie as the quay wakes up, and the cafe-brasserie menu carries on through lunch and into the evening, with plates to share, starters, mains, ice creams and desserts.
The patisserie is still the heart of the house. Its signature is an artisanal nougat made with honey, almonds and pistachios, from a recipe kept within the same family for more than a century, alongside traditional Provencal pastries, candied fruits and a Senequier-style tarte tropezienne.
