Keita Kitamura's French restaurant on the 49th floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower.
Apotheose is chef Keita Kitamura's French restaurant on the 49th floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower, inside TOKYO NODE at the top of the building. Kitamura opened it in 2023 after fifteen years in France, and it holds one MICHELIN star in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026.
Born in Shiga Prefecture in 1980, Kitamura graduated from Tsuji Culinary Institute and spent eight years under Yoshihiro Narisawa before moving to Paris in 2008, where he cooked at Pierre Gagnaire and Chez les Anges. He became chef at Au Bon Accueil in 2011 and at ERH in 2017, then came home to open this room. The dining room looks out from the 49th floor, and the guide lists a great view among its features.
The house line is Japanese in character, French in style: ingredients native to Japan, some of them unexpected, handled with French technique. Kitamura travels across the country for produce and for the local cooking knowledge behind it, and the guide describes a kitchen built on respect for French tradition, curiosity about Japanese ingredients and attention to the present moment. Small changes are made to the dinner menu every day and the recipes are rewritten each year. Dinner is a set menu, offered as the Menu unique, the Menu ephemere or the Menu nuit etoilee.
Dinner runs from 18:00 to 22:30, Tuesday to Saturday, and the restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday. Online reservations open 60 days ahead, and smart casual dress is recommended.
