A French restaurant in Asakusa 4-chome, north of Senso-ji, opened in 2000 by owner chef Noboru Arai.
Hommage is a French restaurant in Asakusa 4-chome, north of Senso-ji temple, set in an exposed concrete building about a 12-minute walk from Asakusa Station. Owner chef Noboru Arai, born in Asakusa in 1974, trained in Tokyo restaurants and spent a year in France before opening Hommage in 2000. It holds two MICHELIN stars in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026.
The name is the French word for homage, which the chef dedicates to nature, to the producers who grow his ingredients, to his mentors, staff and family, and above all to the guests who come to eat. His stated aim is cooking that is simple, minimal and precise: stripping each ingredient back to its essence, then adding a small touch drawn from his own experience while looking for new expression within French tradition.
Every menu is the chef's choice. Lunch and dinner are set courses offered at several lengths, and the kitchen asks about earlier visits so it can change the courses for returning guests. Allergies and dislikes given at booking are built into the menu, and the wine list is drawn mainly from France.
Lunch is served Wednesday to Sunday from 11:30, with last orders at 12:30, and dinner from 18:00, with last orders at 19:30. Hommage closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, and some months run an adjusted schedule posted on its site. Children are welcome from elementary school age when they eat the same course as the adults.
