Hideki Ishikawa's kaiseki counter and private rooms in Kagurazaka, opened in 2008
Kagurazaka Ishikawa is chef Hideki Ishikawa's kaiseki restaurant on the ground floor of the Takamura Building at 5-37 Kagurazaka, a few minutes on foot from Ushigome-kagurazaka and Iidabashi stations. Ishikawa, born in Tsubame in Niigata, trained in established Japanese restaurants, went independent in 2003 and opened Kagurazaka Ishikawa in its present form in 2008. It holds three MICHELIN stars in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026.
The restaurant seats seven at a counter and keeps four private rooms, three for up to four guests and one for up to six. Its guiding line is to cook without flourish or ornament, and it describes the food, the setting and the presence of the staff as meant to sound together.
Dinner is a single chef's tasting course built on the season. The restaurant frames the cooking around three ideas: dashi that carries the breath of the season and soaks in slowly, fire that lifts an ingredient's aroma in a single moment, and steam that loosens an ingredient until its flavor melts. The goal, in its own words, is the clear, pure taste of each seasonal ingredient, reached by refining the same dishes deeper and further over time.
Dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm, with lunch on Saturday from noon, and the restaurant closes Sunday, Monday and public holidays. Seats are released on OMAKASE in rounds, and each guest may book once every two months.
