Two questions decide which Las Vegas restaurant can take your group: how many people, and whether they are sitting down or standing up. A room that seats 20 often holds 35 for a reception. A restaurant that advertises private dining may only have a semi-private corner. Everything else, the food, the address, the night of the week, comes after those two answers.
This is the capacity for private dining and large groups at 55 Las Vegas restaurants, taken room by room. It is organized by headcount, because that is the question you are actually asking.
Receptions, buyouts and anything over 100
Eleven restaurants in this list go past a hundred people, and six of them reach 250 or more.
- TAO Asian Bistro at Venetian: A semi-private room for up to 22, and the Opium Room for receptions up to 250.
- Wakuda: The omakase counter seats 6 to 8, the private room 12 to 20, and the outdoor terrace 81 seated or 150 standing.
- Bazaar Meat at Palazzo: Four private rooms: Flamenco seats 10 to 12, Matador 12 to 14, Blacksmith 20 to 24, and Andalusia up to 130.
- Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio: 60 seated, or up to 100 for a standing reception.
- LAGO at Bellagio: The private dining room seats 28, or 30 standing. Taken with the patio it holds 65 seated or 75 standing, and a full buyout takes 240 seated or 300 standing.
- Spago at Bellagio: The private dining room seats 20. The patio in front of the Fountains seats 50, or 75 standing, and a full buyout takes 120 seated or 250 standing.
- Barry's Downtown Prime at Circa: Eight private and semi-private rooms, from the Chef's Table for 12 to the Main Street Room for 54 seated or 72 standing, with the Mint Room at 36 seated or 60 standing in between. The whole restaurant takes up to 350.
- Amaya at The Cosmopolitan: Dining Room II, a semi-private room with its own bar, seats 16 to 40 or 50 for a reception. The bar and lounge seats 50, and a full buyout takes 200 seated or 250 standing.
- CUT by Wolfgang Puck at The Palazzo: The private dining room seats 56, or 60 for a reception. The front dining room seats 60 or holds 100 standing, and the main dining room takes 140 seated or 250 for a reception.
- Michael Mina at Bellagio: A private room for 30 and a semi-private room for 42. A partial buyout seats 100, and the full restaurant takes 125 seated or 200 standing.
- Ocean Prime Las Vegas: Three private rooms: Boulevard seats 16, Meritage 24 and Harmon 50, or 75 standing. The outdoor terrace over the Strip seats 100 or holds 125 for a reception.
The Opium Room at TAO is the largest dedicated reception room in this list at 250, which is a different proposition from taking over a whole restaurant. On buyouts Barry's Downtown Prime is the biggest at 350 across the whole restaurant, then LAGO at 300 standing, with Spago and Amaya at 250. CUT's main dining room also takes 250 for a reception. Andalusia at Bazaar Meat takes 130, and Wakuda's terrace is the other way to put 150 people somewhere with a kitchen attached. Past that you are into a ballroom, which is a different conversation again.
Fifty to a hundred
This is the band most corporate dinners and wedding parties land in, and it has the deepest bench.
- Delilah at Wynn: 60 seated, or 75 for a cocktail reception.
- Komodo at Fontainebleau: Two semi-private rooms at the back of the restaurant, for up to 30 and up to 75.
- Toca Madera at Crystals: The Sotol Room seats 14, the Espadin room 20, and the Noble 33 room 54 seated or 75 standing.
- STRIPSTEAK by Michael Mina at Mandalay Bay: Private dining for up to 72.
- Craftsteak at MGM Grand: Two private rooms: Room 1 seats 32 or holds 40 standing, Room 2 seats 40 or holds 50. Combined they take 72 seated or 80 for a reception.
- Hell's Kitchen at Caesars Palace: 42 in the private room, or up to 70 in the semi-private space.
- Carversteak at Resorts World: The Whiskey Room takes 14 to 45, the Garden Lounge 34, and the Garden private room 66.
- Beauty & Essex at Cosmopolitan: The private room seats 26. The Pearl Lounge holds 60.
- Carama at Mandalay Bay: 40 seated, or 60 for a standing reception.
- Catch at Aria: The private room seats 14, and larger groups go up to 60.
- Golden Steer Steakhouse: Private dining for 42 to 60.
- Peter Luger at Caesars Palace: The Great Neck room seats 30, the Brooklyn room 40, and Center Field 60.
- The Mayfair Supper Club at Bellagio: 50 seated, or up to 60 standing.
- Gymkhana at Aria: A semi-private room for up to 56, plus a bar and lounge for 30.
- Bavette's Steakhouse and Bar at Park MGM: The private dining room seats 18. The Parlor takes 35 to 50.
- Estiatorio Milos at The Venetian: 20 to 30 seated, or 30 to 50 for a standing reception.
- Mizumi at Wynn: The private room seats 14 to 16. The enclosed teppanyaki room takes 50.
- RPM Italian: Three private spaces seating 8, 14 and 50.
Note how often a room is listed twice, seated and standing. Delilah seats 60 and holds 75 standing. Carama seats 40 and holds 60. If your evening can be a reception instead of a plated dinner, the same room takes roughly a third more people.
Thirty to fifty
The sweet spot for a company dinner, a milestone birthday or a wedding party the night before.
- Zuma at The Cosmopolitan: The Yama room seats 15 to 19, the Sabaku room 22, or 32 to 44 combined.
- COTE at Venetian: Private dining for 8 to 40.
- Carbone at Aria: Two private rooms seat 20 each, or 40 combined.
- STK at The Cosmopolitan: The Tempest Suite seats 14 to 16, the Candy Barr Suite 24 to 26, or up to 40 combined.
- SW Steakhouse at Wynn: Two rooms seat 16 and 18, or 40 combined.
- Yellowtail at Bellagio: A semi-private room for up to 38, and a lounge for 25 standing.
- Mott 32 at Palazzo: Private dining from 10 up to 36.
- Casa Playa at Encore: Two rooms seat 16 each, or 35 combined.
- LAVO Italian at Palazzo: 28 seated, or 35 for a standing reception.
- Hakkasan Restaurant at MGM: Two private rooms seat 18 each, or 34 combined.
- Mastro's Ocean Club at Crystals: Three options seating 10, 22 to 24, and 32.
- Mother Wolf at Fontainebleau: Private dining for up to 32.
- Maroon by Kwame Onwuachi at SAHARA Las Vegas: Private dining for 10 to 30.
- Scarpetta at Cosmopolitan: The Vino Room seats 30, the chef's table 10, and the Fountain Room 16.
Several of these are two rooms that combine. Carbone is 20 and 20, or 40 together. SW Steakhouse is 16 and 18, or 40. Zuma runs 15 to 19 in the Yama room and 22 in Sabaku, or 32 to 44 combined. A combined room is usually the last thing released, so it is worth asking for early.
Sixteen to thirty
Twelve and under: the small private table
Below about twelve, most restaurants stop offering a room and start offering a good table. Nobu has no private dining room at Caesars Palace; its largest pods seat 14, and that is the honest answer rather than a room that does not exist.
Corporate dinners, conventions and client entertaining
Las Vegas hosts more conventions than any other American city, and the restaurant side of a corporate trip has its own constraints that a birthday does not:
- Everyone eats at once. Large seated groups usually run a set menu with two or three choices per course rather than full a la carte. That is the kitchen's limit, not an upsell.
- You may need the room to do something. A presentation, a screen, a microphone or a private bar narrows the list quickly. The Noble 33 room at Toca Madera and the Garden rooms at Carversteak are built for it; a semi-private corner is not.
- Timing is set by the show floor. Convention dinners cluster between 6:30pm and 7:30pm, which is exactly when the private rooms go. A 9pm seating is far easier to get on the same night.
- One bill, one card. Say so at booking. Splitting a check for 40 at the table is slow and some rooms will not do it at all.
What a private room actually involves
- A food and beverage minimum, not a room charge. Most Strip restaurants do not rent the room. They set a spend the group needs to reach, and the room comes with it. The number moves by night, season and how much of the restaurant you are taking.
- It is held, not booked. None of these rooms are bookable through a reservation platform. The restaurant holds the date while the group confirms, and the hold has a deadline.
- Service charge and tax sit on top. Quote your group the all-in number rather than the per-person food price, or the final bill lands badly.
- Big weekends compress everything. F1 week, New Year's Eve, CES, March basketball and the convention calendar take the large rooms months out. A party of 40 on an ordinary Tuesday is a different exercise from the same 40 on a Saturday in November.
How to choose quickly
- Pick the format first. Seated or standing changes which restaurants are even possible.
- Add 10 percent to your headcount. Groups grow between booking and the night, and a room at its stated maximum has no give.
- Decide if the room has to be enclosed. "Private" and "semi-private" are not the same thing, and the list above says which is which.
- Then pick the food. It is the pleasant part, and by this point only a handful of rooms are still in play.

Andalusia at Bazaar Meat holds up to 130. For a seated dinner, Carversteak's Garden private room seats 66 and Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio seats 60, and Craftsteak's two rooms combine to seat 72.
Can I book a private dining room online? No. Private rooms at these restaurants are held on request, not sold through a booking platform. Send the headcount, the date and the format and the restaurant comes back with what is open and what the minimum is.
What is the minimum spend for a private room in Las Vegas? There is rarely a room rental. Restaurants set a food and beverage minimum instead, and it moves by night, season and how much of the room you take. Ask for it in writing before you commit, with service charge and tax included.
How far in advance should I book a group dinner in Las Vegas? For 12 to 20 people, a few weeks is usually enough outside peak dates. For 40 or more, or any weekend during a major convention or F1 week, start months out, because the combined rooms are the first to go.
What is the difference between private and semi-private dining? A private room has its own walls and door. Semi-private is a defined area of the main dining room, often curtained or raised, with the noise of the restaurant around it. Several rooms in this list are explicitly semi-private, including Komodo, Gymkhana, Hell's Kitchen, TAO, Yellowtail, Michael Mina and Amaya's Dining Room II.
Can a large group get a set menu? Usually yes, and above about 20 people it is normally required. Expect two or three choices per course, with dietary requirements handled separately if you send them in advance.
