Las Vegas Nightclub Dress Code: What Each Room Actually Enforces
Upscale nightlife dress at the nightclubs, swimwear at the pools - the policy each of 17 Las Vegas rooms actually publishes, and the items that get people turned away.
Las Vegas nightclubs want upscale nightlife attire: no athletic wear, no tank tops, no shorts, no sandals or work boots. Las Vegas dayclubs want the opposite - swim attire, with cover-ups for the walk in and out, and at several pools jeans and pants are explicitly refused.
That is the short answer. The specifics vary by operator, and the operators are strict about different things. Below is the policy each room actually publishes. Last updated September 2026.
The nightclubs

Tao Group rooms - OMNIA, Hakkasan, JEWEL and Marquee run one shared policy: upscale nightlife attire is strongly encouraged, and sports attire, athleisure or casual loungewear, and swimwear are not permitted. Tao states that the guidelines are maintained at the venue's discretion, which in practice means the door decides.
XS publishes the most detailed list in the city. Business casual dress, and the prohibitions are specific: no torn, cut-off, baggy or stained clothing, no offensive prints, no tank tops, chains, swimwear or robes, no athletic wear including gym shorts, sweatpants or hats, nothing with rivets, hooks or studs, and no work boots or sandals. XS is closed for a full renovation and reopens on 5 November 2026.

LIV is upscale fashion attire. Swimwear, sports or athletic apparel and casual loungewear are not permitted, and management reserves all rights of entry based on dress code.

Zouk is upscale: no athletic wear, shorts, tank tops or jerseys. The room runs Thursday through Saturday from 10:30pm to 4am, so the code applies across a short, busy window.

Pinky Ring calls for fashionable attire, with no baseball caps, athletic wear, shorts or sandals. It also enforces something no other room here does: no photos or video inside.
On The Record is upscale and fashionable. The policy is stated more loosely than the others, which in practice gives the door more discretion rather than less.
Bottled Blonde is the one genuine exception. The code is relaxed by day; at night, no sleeveless tops, basketball jerseys or sandals. If you want a Vegas night that does not require a jacket, this is where to go.
The dayclubs are a different code entirely

Encore Beach Club requires appropriate swimwear and cover-ups, and is unusual in permitting shorts and flip flops. Jeans and pants are not allowed, undergarments may not be used as swim attire, European-style sunbathing is not permitted, and you may not swim or sunbathe fully clothed. Always prohibited: torn or stained clothing, offensive prints, tattoo or MMA inspired clothing, tank tops, work boots, chains, baggy jeans or shorts, and athletic gear including gym shorts, tennis shoes, sweatpants and team hats.
LIV Beach permits swim attire only. No athletic apparel, regular pants or shorts, and no athletic jerseys - football, basketball or baseball. It also refuses dress shoes and boots, and swim attire has to be on properly to enter and exit the venue.
Marquee Dayclub is pool attire: no basketball shorts, team jerseys, baseball caps, robes or tank tops.
OMNIA Dayclub and TAO Beach share Tao Group's daylife policy: upscale daylife attire encouraged, with sports attire and athleisure or casual loungewear not permitted.

Liquid Pool Lounge is swimwear, and it has to be on before you walk in. Every guest enters on a table reservation, since general admission is not sold there.
Ayu Dayclub is swimwear or cover-ups, with no jeans or pants. Ayu runs seasonally and returns on 9 October 2026.
What actually gets people turned away
The refusals are rarely about an outfit being too casual overall. They are about one item:
- Athletic wear - refused by every nightclub here, and by Encore Beach Club and LIV Beach at the pools.
- Tank tops - named by XS, Zouk, Marquee Dayclub, Encore Beach Club and Bottled Blonde.
- Shorts and sandals - named by XS, Zouk, Pinky Ring and Bottled Blonde. Encore Beach Club is the exception and permits both.
- Hats and caps - XS bans hats outright; Pinky Ring and Marquee Dayclub name baseball caps.
- Swimwear at a nightclub - named by Tao Group, LIV and XS. The exception is XS Night Swim, where swim attire is the code.
- Jeans and pants at a pool - named by Encore Beach Club, LIV Beach and Ayu. This is the one that surprises people.
- Work boots - named by XS and Encore Beach Club.
The rooms not listed here
Four Las Vegas venues are missing from this page because we have not found a published dress code for them: TAO Nightclub, Palm Tree Beach Club, EBC at Night and Tailgate Beach Club. A dress code is not worth guessing about at the door, so they are named as unconfirmed rather than filled in.
If you are booking one of those, ask and we will confirm it with the venue first. Our Las Vegas team checks the rules for the specific night you are attending, since several rooms enforce the code more strictly on holiday weekends and headliner dates.
Frequently asked questions
What is the dress code for Las Vegas nightclubs? Upscale nightlife attire. Across OMNIA, Hakkasan, JEWEL, Marquee, XS, LIV, Zouk and Pinky Ring the consistently refused items are athletic wear, tank tops, shorts, sandals and swimwear.
Can you wear jeans to a Las Vegas nightclub? At most rooms, dark denim without rips is accepted as part of an otherwise upscale outfit. None of the nightclubs here names jeans as a refusal - they name athletic wear, tank tops, shorts and caps. XS does refuse torn, cut-off or baggy clothing, so ripped denim is out. At the pools the opposite applies: Encore Beach Club, LIV Beach and Ayu all refuse jeans and pants outright.
What is the dress code for a Las Vegas pool party? Swim attire, with cover-ups for entry. Encore Beach Club permits shorts and flip flops; LIV Beach permits swim attire only and refuses dress shoes and boots; Liquid requires swimwear on before you walk in; Ayu permits swimwear or cover-ups with no jeans or pants.
Can you wear sneakers to a Las Vegas nightclub? Clean fashion sneakers are generally accepted; athletic trainers are what gets refused. XS names tennis shoes specifically, and every Tao Group room refuses sports attire.
Can you wear a hat to a Las Vegas nightclub? Not at XS, which bans hats outright, and not at Pinky Ring, which names baseball caps. Marquee Dayclub also refuses baseball caps at the pool.
Do dress codes change on big nights? Yes. Several rooms enforce the code more strictly on holiday weekends and headliner dates. If the night matters, confirm it rather than assuming the standard policy applies.
