Yoshihiro Narisawa's Innovative Satoyama Cuisine, served as one omakase course to 15 guests in Minamiaoyama.
NARISAWA is chef Yoshihiro Narisawa's restaurant at 2-6-15 Minamiaoyama, close to Aoyama-itchome Station. It holds two MICHELIN stars in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026 and is No. 37 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026.
Narisawa calls his cooking Innovative Satoyama Cuisine. Satoyama are the places in Japan where people grow rice and live hand in hand with the forests and seas around them, taking from the land only what daily life needs. The restaurant takes that culinary culture and the wisdom of earlier generations and passes it through what it calls the NARISAWA filter, guided by ji'nen, the spirit of nature. The aim, in the chef's words, is Beneficial and Sustainable Gastronomy: food that is good for body and spirit and for a sustainable environment.
The dining room seats 15 and serves one omakase course at lunch and at dinner, set entirely by the kitchen. Guests marking an occasion can ask for a message plate with dessert when they book, and strong perfume or cologne is discouraged so that the aromas of the food come through.
Lunch seats from 12:00 to 12:30 and the room closes at 14:30, and dinner seats from 17:30 to 18:00 with the room closing at 20:00, Tuesday to Saturday. The restaurant asks guests to arrive on time, since a late start can mean missing part of the course.
