Bar lounge on the 33rd floor of Aman Tokyo, shaped like a shoji lantern, with floor-to-ceiling windows
The Lounge by Aman is the bar lounge on the 33rd floor of Aman Tokyo, which occupies the top floors of Otemachi Tower in Otemachi, high above the Imperial Palace Gardens. It is open to hotel guests and non-residents from 11am to 10pm for cocktails, all-day dining and the hotel's afternoon tea.
The space is designed to resemble the inside of a traditional shoji paper lantern, a vast garden and bar lounge under lofty ceilings, with a garden area modeled on a Japanese garden. It is an indoor room, and huge floor-to-ceiling windows carry the view: the green of the outer gardens and the mountains by day, the skyline toward Mount Fuji at dusk and the lights of the surrounding towers after dark.
The bar team keeps a deep list of sake, wine, spirits and Japanese whisky. The martini collection is led by the Yuzu Martini, made with the Musashi by Aman craft spirit, alongside Green Tea and Sake Martinis, a Shochu Negroni and a Hibiki Old Fashioned, and the bartenders will build a bespoke cocktail around a guest's favorite fruit and style. The all-day menu runs from Western classics to Japanese and Chinese dishes, including the Wagyu Cheese Burger, assorted sashimi, Peking duck and mapo tofu with wagyu.
Afternoon tea is served from 11am to 4:30pm, with menus that change through the seasons, and cocktails take over from late afternoon into the evening. Tables are allocated on arrival and cannot be chosen in advance.
