Dusit's long-running royal Thai restaurant, now reborn inside Baan Dusit Thani
Benjarong is Dusit's long-running royal Thai restaurant, now reborn inside Baan Dusit Thani, a restored pre-war white mansion set behind a large garden in the Silom area. Dusit International operates the house as a suitably aristocratic home for a kitchen devoted to Thai palace cuisine.
The setting does much of the talking: high-ceilinged rooms, colonial-era architecture and a garden that removes you from the traffic outside, all lending a sense of occasion before the food arrives.
The menu draws on royal and aristocratic recipes of the Rattanakosin Kingdom, roughly the late 1800s through the 1930s, prepared with premium ingredients and plated with real artistry. Under Chef Pum the kitchen pairs those traditional flavor profiles with polished modern technique, keeping the cooking distinctly Thai at heart.
With refined hotel service and a genuinely beautiful room, Benjarong is a dependable choice for classical royal Thai dining in central Bangkok. It suits a special occasion or an unhurried dinner; book ahead, and give yourself time to enjoy both the house and the garden. Lunch and dinner are served as separate seatings, with a break between them in the afternoon.
