Eat Me has been a Bangkok institution for decades, tucked down a lane off Convent Road near Silom in an intimate townhouse that doubles as a contemporary art space. Long listed in the Michelin Guide, it is run by American chef Tim Butler, who trained under Marcus Samuelsson and Daniel Boulud in New York before making the kitchen his own.
The restaurant unfolds across three levels - a casual ground-floor bar, the main dining room, and a leafy open-air terrace - with rotating works from a partner gallery on the walls throughout. The mood is arty and relaxed, not formal, the rare fine-dining room where the atmosphere never overshadows the plate.
The cooking is modern and international, built on top-quality seasonal produce and daring flavor combinations. Signatures range from a sea scallop risotto and charred hamachi collar to maitake mushrooms in orange beurre blanc and a giant Australian wagyu tomahawk built to share, while the bar's Thai-inflected cocktails set the tone before dinner.
