One-Michelin-star modern European restaurant near Sukhumvit
Mia is a one-Michelin-star modern European restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 26, and one of the city's most quietly ambitious tables. It is led by the husband-and-wife team of Michelle Goh and Pongcharn 'Top' Russell - a pairing with a serious pedigree between them - who cook something personal and never showy.
Goh, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef, helped drive the two-star rise of Suhring, while Russell earned a Michelin star within six months at Gauthier Soho in London. Together they run an intimate room with genuine warmth, the kind of place that feels run by its owners because it is.
The cooking is an ingredient-led seasonal tasting menu that blends modern European technique with refined Asian influences, changing with what is good instead of chasing a fixed signature. It is precise and thoughtful without being fussy - a meal that rewards attention but never demands reverence.
Well-loved, not flashy, Mia is an easy recommendation for a relaxed but serious dinner. Book the tasting menu ahead, and expect a warm, unstuffy room where the couple's care shows in the details.
