Rooftop restaurant on the 22nd floor of the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit 11
Pastel occupies the 22nd floor of the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit 11, a rooftop restaurant built around Mediterranean and French Riviera cooking instead of strictly Gallic technique. It is led by Swiss-born, Michelin-starred chef Kilian Fioretto, previously of Les Montagnards in Broc, and it doubles as one of the more stylish rooftop dinners in the busy Sukhumvit core.
The setting does much of the work. A neon sign marks the entrance before the space opens onto a terrace edged with bamboo, archways and Mediterranean tiling, all soft pastel tones and sweeping skyline views. It reads as a slice of the coast lifted into the Bangkok sky, relaxed enough for drinks yet dressed for an occasion.
Fioretto's menu travels the Mediterranean coastline with detours through Morocco, Rome and Nice, sun-drenched and confident and built for a long, unfolding evening instead of a quick course or two. The cooking is refined without being fussy, matched to a bar program made for lingering.
It works equally as a sundowner spot at the bar and as a full sit-down dinner, which makes it a flexible choice for a night out. Aim for sunset to catch the terrace at its best, dress smart-casual, and book ahead for a table on the edge.
