Sorn, the first Thai restaurant in the world to hold three Michelin stars
Sorn opened in 2018 and, in the 2025 Michelin Guide Thailand, became the first Thai restaurant in the world to hold three Michelin stars. It is the work of self-taught chef Supaksorn 'Ice' Jongsiri, who built the restaurant in Phrom Phong around the cooking of Thailand's deep south, and it sits at number 12 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026.
The experience unfolds over three-plus hours in a discreet, refined room, with tableware and produce sourced to match the ambition of the kitchen. For years Jongsiri drove through Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung and Phuket documenting recipes on the verge of extinction, and the restaurant is the distillation of that research.
The menu is heritage southern Thai without dilution or apology: heirloom family dishes, rare regional ingredients and hyper-fresh seafood, driven by fresh turmeric, budu and the funk and heat that make southern cooking Thailand's boldest. Crab and fish arrive at their peak, handled with obsessive precision.
This is the flagship trophy booking of Bangkok dining, the hardest and most coveted table in the city and the one most worth planning a trip around. Online reservations for the following month open at noon Bangkok time on the 25th, or the 24th when the 25th falls on a Saturday.
