Riverside Thai restaurant in the gardens of The Peninsula Bangkok
Thiptara is the Thai restaurant of The Peninsula Bangkok, set at garden level on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River and framed by traditional teakwood salas and tropical gardens. The river sets the pace of the room, and the tables closest to the water are the ones guests ask for.
Chef Luk leads a kitchen that the hotel describes as a focused expression of Thai dining, drawing on tradition and technique rather than reinvention. Three menus run alongside each other: an a la carte Thiptara menu, a signature menu, and a Thai set menu built as home-style cooking, curated to harmonize every flavor profile from sweet and spicy to salty and sour through layers of herbs, spices and long-standing technique.
Thiptara serves dinner only, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., with last orders at 10 p.m. The dress code is smart casual. It is one of several riverside rooms at the hotel, alongside the all-day River Cafe and Terrace, The Lobby, the Peninsula Pool Bar and The River Bar, so a table here can open or close a longer evening on the water. Reserve through SevenRooms.
