Funky Geisha is the Japanese, Thai and vegan restaurant inside ME Cabo on Playa El Medano, set right on the sand facing the Sea of Cortez and the Arch. It is open to the public with valet parking for non-guests, and it is adults only, 18 and over.
The menu travels across Japan and Thailand: sushi, nigiri and sashimi cut from the fish of the day, pad thai, noodles and curries, and a robata grill that cooks meats and seafood over binchotan embers, as in the glazed salmon with oyster sauce and apple curry. A completely vegan menu runs alongside, and the bar mixes Asian-inspired cocktails with fresh herbs and exotic fruit.
Evenings are the draw. Guests dine barefoot on the sand while the Zen Beach Fireworks Show lights up the horizon and reflects on the water, which makes it a natural pick for birthdays, bachelorette parties and beachfront celebrations for large groups.
