Michelin-starred Indian dining on Mayfair's Mount Street since 2016
Jamavar is a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant on Mayfair's Mount Street, marking a decade in London in 2026 and long regarded as one of the capital's benchmark fine-dining Indian rooms. The interior is understated dark glamour: embossed deep-green wallpaper, olive and tan leather seating, brass detailing, Tiffany-style lamps and a serene blue private dining room, all done with restraint and craft.
Under culinary director Surender Mohan, the kitchen delivers a refined pan-Indian menu that spans the celebratory flavors of the north and the spice-led traditions of the south. Signatures include a much-loved lobster dish, soft-shell crab with Tellicherry pepper and garlic, and a Chandni Chowk-style aloo tikki chaat, finishing with a delicate pistachio milk cake.
The room draws Mayfair regulars, visitors and special-occasion diners who want polish without theater. The restaurant is at 8 Mount Street and takes reservations through OpenTable. Lunch runs noon to 2:30 PM and dinner 5:30 to 10:30 PM Monday through Saturday, with a slightly earlier 9:30 PM dinner finish on Sunday. Dress smart to suit the elegant setting.
