Sparrow Italia occupies a multi-level Georgian townhouse at 1-3 Avery Row, climbing from a ground-floor bar and terrace through parlour dining rooms to a third-floor cigar lounge. The layout suits groups, dates, and pre-theater drinks equally, so the building flexes to the night you are planning.
It arrived in late 2022 as a European debut for the brand, with executive chef AJ McCloud anchoring a menu of coastal Italian and Mediterranean classics given a contemporary polish. In-house pasta and organic, sustainable sourcing run through the kitchen, from crudo and salads to house-made pastas and wood-fired dishes.
Sharing is the ethos, with a menu built around fresh pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and Mediterranean small plates. Marble, hand-laid tile, draped arches, and emerald and blue tones set an old-world Italian tone with modern polish, while low lighting and olive trees at the entrance ease you in and weekend live music or DJs lift the energy.
The kitchen runs Monday to Friday from noon to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 11:00 PM, Saturday 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 11:00 PM, and Sunday noon to 3:30 PM and 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Dress is business casual, with no shorts, sportswear, tracksuits, or caps.
