The room looks like a grown-up treehouse. Floor-to-ceiling glass wraps the dining room in a panorama that takes in the London Eye, The Shard, and on a clear day the towers of Canary Wharf. A rooftop terrace handles sunset cocktails before service builds, and guest DJs take over from 7pm as the evening goes on.
The kitchen runs an ingredient-led modern-Mexican menu with plenty of theater. The signature move is the hot-lava-rock service: sliced carne asada finished tableside over sizzling volcanic stone, with pico de gallo, morita chili sauce and warm tortillas. Around it, look for the seabass ceviche blanco and a vegan ceviche of hearts of palm, tacos running from carne asada and chicken mixiote to slow-roasted lamb shoulder and mushroom nopales, and a guacamole to open.
Cocktails are a serious part of the pitch, mezcal- and tequila-forward, and the churros with chocolate sauce close it out. There is a genuine spread of vegan and vegetable-led plates too, so a mixed table is easy to feed.
