12th-floor penthouse atop Dream Downtown, Hudson and Empire views at PHD.
PHD Downtown is the 12th-floor penthouse of the Dream Downtown Hotel on West 16th Street, a rooftop split between an indoor lounge and an outdoor terrace that looks out over the Hudson River and the Empire State Building.
The room is built from Italian Portoro marble, Macassar ebony, nickel-finish walls and amber Venini glass chandeliers. Inside, guests settle into custom Italian leather banquettes at marble tables; outside, the terrace breaks into cozy seating niches under a retractable canopy, with a seasonal winter enclosure that keeps it in use when the weather turns.
Two full-service bars keep the drinks moving, and a fully equipped DJ booth with its own lighting and sound sets the pace once the room fills late. The whole space can also be taken over for private events, with room for up to 350 guests reception-style across the lounge and terrace.
PHD is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 PM to 4 AM. Tell us the night and your group size, and our New York team will arrange the table.

How much is a table at PHD Downtown?
A table at PHD Downtown depends on the night (weekends and event dates price highest), your group size, and where the table sits relative to the DJ booth and dance floor. PHD Downtown keeps an upscale nightlife dress code: stylish, dressed-up attire. Avoid athletic wear, gym shoes, and overly casual looks. Your host manages the door with your table, and we confirm the current policy with your booking.
