Brooklyn Chop House is a steakhouse at 150 Nassau Street in the Financial District, built on the idea of Asian cooking meeting the classic American steakhouse. The name plays on the double meaning of chop, from chop steak to chopsticks, and the dining room runs to curated playlists with the energy of hip-hop culture behind them.
The menu made its name by turning deli and diner staples into dumplings: pastrami, lamb gyro, the Reuben, Philly cheesesteak, bacon cheeseburger, and French onion soup all arrive as dumplings. From there the small plates run to crispy salt and pepper lobster wontons, Peking duck tacos, rock shrimp tempura, and lobster satay.
On the steakhouse side, dry-aged cuts run from a 24 oz. bone-in ribeye to a 48 oz. porterhouse and a bone-in tomahawk. The signature LSD feeds five to six: salt and pepper lobster, ginger and garlic lobster, a dry-aged porterhouse, and a whole Peking duck carved tableside, served with lobster and chicken fried rice, fries, and onion rings. Lobster fried rice and garlic ginger mashed potatoes round out the table.
Downtown hours run Monday through Thursday noon to 11:00 PM, Friday noon to midnight, Saturday 4:00 PM to midnight, and Sunday 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with a weekday lunch menu served from noon to 3:45 PM. Private dining rooms host groups of 10 to 200 guests.
