Daniel Boulud's Michelin-starred French flagship on the Upper East Side
Daniel Boulud's Upper East Side French flagship opened in 1993 and has been at 60 East 65th Street since 1999, the New York room for the milestone occasion. It holds one Michelin star in the current MICHELIN Guide.
The main dining room sits in the former Mayfair Hotel, the original site of Le Cirque: a soaring coffered ceiling, neo-classic architecture, custom Bernardaud chandeliers, and a rotating program of museum-quality art, reworked by original designer Tihany Design. The Art Deco-inspired Lalique bar pours the famous White Cosmopolitan, and the wood-paneled lounge serves the prix-fixe or a la carte menu and takes walk-ins when space allows.
Executive Chef Eddy Leroux, in the Daniel kitchen for more than 20 years, cooks a modern, seasonal French menu as a three- or five-course prix fixe or a seven-course tasting, with vegetarian versions of each. The current menu runs from a venison terrine with foie gras to a Maine lobster chaud-froid, Hampton Bay monkfish with saffron potatoes, and a binchotan-charred wagyu striploin with sauce bordelaise.
Dinner is served Tuesday through Sunday, 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM, closed Monday. Jackets are strongly suggested for gentlemen, and shorts, sandals, athletic wear, and ripped jeans are not allowed. Reservations are on Resy, and parties of eight or more book directly with the restaurant.
