The dining room is a Martin Brudnizki design that pairs the landmark building's original neoclassical architecture with maximalist style, channeling Old New York elegance. Two grand sculptural trees rise over curved sapphire-blue velvet booths and caramel leather seating, and balconies hold tete-a-tete tables with a view of the action.
Carmellini distills a 30-year New York career into cooking that marries Italian and French tradition with a classic New York feel. The current dinner menu includes oysters a la pomme, sweet crab and pepper mille-feuille, lobster cannelloni della casa, squab en croute, and Atlantic halibut with sauce cresson and an optional osetra caviar supplement. Dinner runs daily 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, breakfast daily 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, lunch Monday to Friday 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM, and Champagne brunch Saturday and Sunday 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
