Hawksmoor brought its London steakhouse to Gramercy, and it built that London reputation on all-natural, pasture-reared, traditionally dry-aged British beef. The New York room carries the standard into the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building at 109 East 22nd Street, on the edge of Rose Hill.
The main dining room is the draw: soaring vaulted ceilings, arched windows, original crown molding, and green leather banquettes under antique lighting, restored with reclaimed materials by design studio Macaulay Sinclair alongside Hawksmoor cofounder Huw Gott.
