The Corner Store takes the landmark corner of Houston and West Broadway in SoHo and runs it as a classic American joint with polish. The nostalgia is deliberate: Rockwell Group designed the room as an homage to a classic New York bar and restaurant, with antiqued brass, textured plaster, checkered marble floors and high-gloss wood paneling.
The menu splits three ways. There is a raw bar with oysters, a jumbo shrimp cocktail and bluefin tuna tartare. There are starters played straight, including spinach and artichoke dip, a lobster and caviar roll, five-cheese pizza rolls with Calabrian honey and a Caesar with everything-bagel croutons. And there is a butcher's counter that carries real weight: 30-day dry-aged bone-in New York strip and prime ribeye, a center-cut filet with truffle butter, steak frites au poivre, and a wagyu French dip built on 72-hour Westholme ribeye.
The bar is martini-forward. Martini Service brings one martini made to share between two or three, and the list runs from Oli's Dirty and The Filth to a Sour Cream & Onion martini and an espresso martini. Dessert keeps the nostalgia going with a Samoa sundae on coconut soft serve and apple hand pies.
The Corner Store is open daily from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and reservations are made through SevenRooms. Walk-ins may be seated when cancellations and no-shows open up space.
