Prunier · Restaurant · Tokyo

The main dining room of Tokyo Kaikan, known for Dover sole meuniere finished at the table.
Prunier is the main dining room of Tokyo Kaikan, on the second floor of its Main Building at 3-2-1 Marunouchi in Chiyoda, with an underground connection to Tokyo Station. It holds one MICHELIN star in the MICHELIN Guide Tokyo 2026. The kitchen keeps the classic French repertoire the room has served for generations and adds seasonal produce from France and across Japan.
Chef Hiroyuki Matsumoto, who trained for six years in France, including at La Cote d'Or, and later led the kitchens at Les Anges in Ginza and Restaurant FEU, has run Prunier since 2019. His working line is that cooking should make an ingredient taste fresh and return it to its natural state. The dining room seats 48, with two private rooms, Maronie and Citron.
Dover sole is the house signature. The Dover sole meuniere course brings one whole fish for two, finished in front of the table with a hot, fragrant butter sauce as part of Prunier's gueridon service, and sole bonne femme, the fillet steamed in wine, carries on as a long-standing classic. The set courses include Menu Nostalgie and Menu Trilogie.
Lunch is served from 11:30am, last order 1:30pm, and dinner from 5:30pm, last order 9pm, Tuesday through Sunday. The restaurant closes on Mondays; when a Monday is a public holiday it opens and closes the following day instead. The dress code is smart casual, and men are asked to wear a jacket, optional in summer with a collared shirt.
