Jhol sits on Sukhumvit 18 near Asok, the modern coastal-Indian restaurant of chef Hari Nayak, a Culinary Institute of America graduate who cooked at New York's three-Michelin-star Daniel. It puts a contemporary, regional lens on Indian cooking and lands at number 17 on BK's Top Tables 2026.
The room is warm and relaxed, with white walls and colorful tiled floors that lend an easy, unfussy elegance - closer to a lively neighborhood table than a hushed fine-dining shrine. It is built for conversation and sharing, not ceremony.
The menu spotlights coastal Indian cooking, drawing on Konkan and Malabar on India's west coast and on Chettinad, Pondicherry and the Bay of Bengal on the east coast, all cooked with seasonal Thai produce. Seafood leads the way, but signatures roam across Berhampur fried chicken wings, Kurobuta pork chop vindaloo and chili pepper crab, served a la carte to build your own spread.
That a la carte format is the whole appeal: a livelier, more freewheeling take on contemporary Indian than a locked-in tasting menu. It is the pick for a group that wants bold, vividly spiced plates in a room with some energy - worth booking ahead given its ranking.
