Ling Ling sits on the 56th floor of Chapultepec Uno, the tower at Paseo de la Reforma 509 that also houses the Ritz-Carlton. The room is wrapped in glass on all sides, and the view runs from Chapultepec Castle and the park across the basin toward the mountains.
The kitchen works Hakkasan's modern Cantonese repertoire for sharing: dim sum, crispy duck salad, wok-fired dishes, black pepper ribeye and Peking duck, plus a sushi and sashimi section from the open kitchen. The bar program gets equal billing with the food.
Dinner gives way to an eclectic soundtrack of electronic and pop music as the night goes on, and the lounge side of the floor fills with a Reforma and Polanco crowd that treats it as the start of the evening as much as the meal itself. The room reads as an occasion space, for a birthday, a deal dinner or a last night in town.
Service runs 1pm to midnight Monday through Wednesday, 1pm to 12:30am Thursday through Saturday, and 1pm to 11pm on Sunday. Reservations are taken through OpenTable.
