Boia De · Restaurant · Miami

One-Michelin-star, Italian-influenced cooking in a Buena Vista strip mall
Boia De sits in a Buena Vista strip mall, between a laundromat and a medical center, marked only by a neon-pink exclamation point over the door. Inside is a narrow, forest-green room with tables and counter seating, plus a handful of tables on the patio, and it fills up as soon as the doors open at 5:30 PM.
It is the work of chefs Luciana Giangrandi and Alex Meyer, and it has held a Michelin star since the first Florida guide in 2022, including its 2026 star. The kitchen describes its cooking as modern American with a strong Italian influence, and the wine program follows that lead with terroir-driven bottles from around the world.
The menu follows the seasons, but current dishes give it shape: crispy polenta with marinated eggplant, ricotta salata and basil, pappardelle alla lepre with Florida rabbit, rosemary and tomato, and tagliolini nero with king crab and truffle pate. Desserts run to a crispy tiramisu and a chocolate budino with hazelnut and salted caramel. There is no dress code, and tables are usually held for an hour and a half to two hours, which suits a slow, conversational dinner.
Indoor tables take parties of four or fewer, and larger groups are seated outside. Every open reservation is listed on Resy, where the notify feature is worth setting because same-day cancellations are common, and some seats are kept for walk-ins.
