Wood-fired Mediterranean with French and Persian roots, reborn in Little River
Fooq's is back, reborn in Little River in January 2026 after a four-year hiatus, more than a decade after it first opened in Downtown Miami in 2015. The new home is a two-story space on NW 73rd Street with the restaurant below and Lion's Den above, made for guests who want dinner and a night out at one address.
The restaurant is chef-owner David Foulquier's project, cooking wood-fired, locally sourced, seasonal Mediterranean food shaped by his French and Persian heritage. The reopened space was reimagined by Stockholm-based JOYN Studios, and upstairs sits Lion's Den, the on-site dance club that keeps the energy going after dinner. Happy hour runs 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at the outdoor bar and lounge, and Sunday opens with brunch before dinner.
The cooking is share-forward, and every kebab and protein comes off a live-fire charcoal grill. Start with dips and homemade za'atar bread, such as spicy feta, hummus, or muhammara, then move to pork and lamb kofte, the charcoal-grilled chicken kebab, and a side of jeweled rice tahdig. Bigger tables can share the whole branzino or the lamb shoulder, each built for two to four, and the menu shifts with the seasons.
The crowd is a Miami mix of neighborhood regulars and returning fans of the original, and there is no dress code. Reservations are available up to 21 days in advance.
