Chinese-Japanese dim sum, sushi and robata on South Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami
Novikov Miami is the first U.S. outpost of Novikov, the Chinese-Japanese restaurant and bar. It sits on a busy corner of Downtown Miami at 300 South Biscayne Boulevard, at the southeast corner of the Met 1 building, and it is set up for a glamorous, high-energy dinner ahead of a night out.
The concept brings robata grill and wok dishes together with an extensive list of dim sum and sushi. The interior was hospitality designer Adam Tihany's first Miami project, built around an open kitchen, and the room is polished and lively. A private dining room seats up to 16 for celebrations and corporate dinners.
Signature orders include Peking Duck, the Whole Honey Truffle King Crab Leg, Spicy Prawn Moneybags from the dim sum list, Hamachi Carpaccio with shaved truffle, and Snapper Two Ways. The new-style sashimi section adds Toro Tartare with caviar and Scallop with black truffle, and there are A5 Wagyu and foie gras gyozas and tuna or unagi crispy rice for the table.
The crowd is dressy and social, the energy builds through the night, and the room works as well for a celebration as for a pre-nightlife dinner. Lunch runs from noon to 3pm Sunday through Friday, with a weekday business lunch and a Sunday brunch, and dinner starts at 6pm, running to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
