Cosme · Restaurant · New York

Enrique Olvera's Flatiron dining room, and contemporary Mexican cooking.
Cosme is Enrique Olvera's restaurant in the Flatiron District, and it changed what a Mexican restaurant could be in New York. The cooking is contemporary and rooted in Mexican flavors and traditions rather than bound by them, built on local and seasonal ingredients: tostadas, tiradito, huarache, salsa macha, and a kitchen that treats vegetables with the same seriousness as the proteins.
The drinks follow the same logic. The beverage program focuses on artisanal spirits and high quality ingredients and draws its inspiration from Mexican culture, so the agave list is the center of it rather than an afterthought bolted onto a wine program.
Service runs Sunday through Wednesday from 5pm to 9:30pm and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 10pm. For groups there is a private space that seats up to 14, served family style from a set menu so a larger table eats the way the kitchen intends.
Olvera is the chef behind Pujol in Mexico City, a restaurant we also carry.
