Set inside the landmark Puck Building on Mulberry Street, Torrisi is a Michelin-starred Nolita dining room where Italian-American cooking gets a fine-dining rewrite in a scene-y, see-and-be-seen room. It is an occasion restaurant, the kind of table you dress up for and plan a night around.
The room leans into the Puck Building's pedigree: vaulted ceilings, serious artwork, and interior design by Garrett Singer Architecture, with waiters in dinner jackets, pressed linens, and a buzzy hum. The Michelin Guide finds it polished and genuinely warm at the same time.
Chef Rich Torrisi reworks Italian-American classics with real panache. The menu runs from Sicilian tuna and cucumbers New Yorkese to pastas such as tortellini pomodoro and linguini with 15 pink littleneck clams, with Dover sole Francese and duck alla Mulberry among the mains. Save room for the affogato. The bar turns out a serious Negroni, from the house version to a Sbagliato and the Dagger John.
The kitchen serves lunch Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM and dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, closed Sunday. Guests are asked to dress for the occasion, and athletic wear is not permitted. Dining room reservations open 30 days ahead for parties of up to six, exclusively on Resy, and the Bar Counter takes walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis.
