Chef Travis Swikard's Michelin Bib Gourmand Mediterranean in East Village
Callie is chef Travis Swikard's first solo restaurant, a Mediterranean dining room that opened in 2021 in San Diego's East Village. Swikard grew up in the San Diego area, then spent close to a decade in New York as Daniel Boulud's right hand, running the kitchen at Boulud Sud. There he fell for the sun-drenched flavors of Greece, Spain, Italy, Morocco and the wider Mediterranean, and Callie brings that whole palette home to the farmers, fishermen and produce of greater San Diego. The name comes from the Greek kallos, meaning a thing of beauty.
