Trust is the Hillcrest room where Chef Brad Wise introduced San Diego to Santa Maria-style live-fire grilling, and the open kitchen still anchors the whole experience. Sit anywhere along the dining room and you watch the flame do the work, from charred vegetables to prime cuts pulled off the grill at the right moment.
Wise grew up mopping floors at a pizza shop and worked his way through San Diego kitchens before opening Trust in 2016 on the corner of Park and Robinson. It was the first concept in what is now the Trust Restaurant Group, the hospitality collective behind Fort Oak, Rare Society, Cardellino and more across the city, and the room still carries the energy of the flagship that started it all.
