Alain Ducasse's Paris bistro in Tokyo, on the 10th floor of La Porte Aoyama since 2005
Benoit Tokyo is the French bistro produced by chef Alain Ducasse on the 10th floor of La Porte Aoyama in Jingumae. It opened in 2005 with the name and spirit of Benoit in Paris, the bistro founded in 1912. The MICHELIN Guide lists it in its Tokyo 2026 selection.
A spiral staircase leads up to a bright dining room enclosed by large windows, where a miniature Eiffel Tower, the house symbol, greets guests. The solid oak Versailles parquet, antique-patterned cement tiles and solid walnut bistro tables all came from France, and Ducasse chose the antique bottles, vintage tins and glazed pottery himself at French flea markets. Frescoes on the ceiling recall the skies of Provence.
Executive chef Sebastien Rousseau cooked at Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athenee in Paris and Le Louis XV in Monaco before joining Benoit Tokyo in 2014, and became chef in April 2026. The menu keeps to bistro classics: the Benoit salad with mushrooms, bacon and gizzards, a terrine de campagne, the signature peppered rump steak of 200 grams of Joshu beef, and desserts such as millefeuille, baba with armagnac and the Benoit chocolate. Lunch and dinner are set menus of entree, main and dessert, with a second entree or main as options.
Lunch runs 11:30 to 15:30, last order 14:00, and dinner 17:30 to 22:30, last order 20:30, seven days a week. Daylight fills the room at lunch, and the Aoyama night view takes over at dinner. Groups of more than eight plan the menu with the restaurant before booking.
